In November 2003, I returned to Liberia after 19 years. I was given the opportunity through my expertise to help with post war efforts. I spent the next 18 months in Liberia until June of 2005. I had the time to connect with the desire and needs of the people in my community by listening to their hopes for survival in the future and their concerns that I do not forget about them once I return to the U.S.
